SASC Chairman Inhofe on RAND Study

Statement

Date: Sept. 21, 2018

U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, welcomed the release of the RAND Study on Installation and Command Sexual Assault Risk today. The report, requested by the Department of Defense (DOD), used 2014 data to better understand and estimate sexual assault and sexual harassment risk factors for service members.

"One instance of sexual assault is too many and I expect the Department to continue its vigilant efforts to minimize risk, support victims and hold perpetrators of sexual assault accountable. I look forward to hearing from the Department about how it plans to use this report to improve their evaluation, prevention, response and enforcement efforts at installations and commands across the Armed Services."
