Goodlatte Applauds House Passage of Marrakesh Treaty Implementation Act

The House of Representatives today approved the Marrakesh Treaty Implementation Act (S. 2559), bipartisan legislation to help ensure the visually impaired and those with print disabilities, such as dyslexia, have access to published works. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) praised today's passage of the Marrakesh Treaty Implementation Act in the statement below.

Chairman Goodlatte: "The Marrakesh Treaty, which was signed by over 50 countries in 2013, ensures that all individuals, regardless of the visual impairment, have access to modified formats of copyrighted works. We must ensure that our copyright laws do not hinder those with disabilities from enjoying books and magazines from around the world.

"I am pleased that the House and Senate have worked together to send this important legislation to the President for his signature."
