Rosen Calls on Secretary Perry to Conduct An Analysis on Environmental Impact

Today, Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03) released the following statement in response to Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Rick Perry approving the storage of up to one metric ton of weapons-grade plutonium at the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS).

"I have serious concerns with Secretary Perry recklessly pushing this proposal forward without properly assessing the impact that transporting and storing up to one metric ton of weapons-grade plutonium would have on Nevadans' health and safety. I urge DOE to conduct a full environmental analysis, including a comprehensive study on the risks that such a project would pose to Nevada and our key national security facilities."
