On the 17th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on our nation, U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill--the top Democrat on the Homeland Security Committee and a senior member of the Armed Services Committee--released the following statement:

"Today we remember the lives lost 17 years ago during the terrorist attacks on September 11th, and all the loved ones left behind. The sacrifices made by the brave first responders who ran towards the chaos, risking their lives to help save their fellow Americans, continue to represent America's greatness and strength."
