JB Pritzker Statement Recognizing Labor Day

Statement

Date: Sept. 3, 2018
Location: Chicago, IL
Issues: Labor Unions

Today, JB Pritzker released the following statement to recognize Labor Day:

"Working families across our state are better off today because of the tireless work of the labor movement, and on Labor Day, let's celebrate the progress we've made and get ready for the fight ahead," said JB Pritzker. "Right now, we have a governor that's waged war on the labor movement -- standing in the way of wage increases and fair contracts that strengthen our middle class. Bruce Rauner has made unions his enemy while working families pay the price. Illinois deserves better, and as governor, I'll spend every day working to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour, stand up for the right to organize, and defend working families from Right to Work. With the help of the statewide AFL-CIO and dozens of unions, I know we will beat Bruce Rauner and put Springfield back on the side of working families."
