Chairman Crowley Statement on the 17th Anniversary of the September 11th Terrorist Attacks

Statement

Date: Sept. 11, 2018
Location: Washington, DC

House Democratic Caucus Chairman Joe Crowley (D-Queens, the Bronx) issued the following statement commemorating the 17th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks:

"Seventeen years ago, our country and our city suffered an unimaginable loss. While no amount of time will ever ease the pain of that day, we still can find peace and comfort by honoring the memories of those we lost.

"As we reflect on this solemn day, we must remember that there is far more that unites us than divides us and that we are stronger as a nation when we come together.

"Today is also a stark reminder of the gratitude we still owe the heroes who answered our nation's call. We pray for them, as well as for the loved ones left behind, for the first responders and workers who continue to battle cancer and other health issues, and for the men and women who protected and defended our nation following those heinous attacks. Today is yet another day for us to recommit and remember our responsibility to their legacy, our country, and to one another."
