Dear Ms. Del Pizzo,

I write with serious concerns about recent reports of U.S. Postal Service mail trucks blocking Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible curb ramps in Co-op City in my district.

I have received multiple complaints from constituents living at 100, 120, & 140 Bellamy Loop Bronx, New York, that USPS mail trucks are parking and blocking the curb ramps when they deliver mail and have knocked down signs that indicate a handicap access space.

Many of my constituents in Co-op City are seniors or individuals living with disabilities. When these USPS trucks block the curb ramps they prevent my constituents from being able to leave their homes and live full and independent lives.

The U.S. Postal Service has long provided accessible facilities and mail services to people living with disabilities. It is unacceptable that USPS vehicles are now actively keeping people from going about their lives. This practice must end immediately.

I look forward to your response and an immediate end to the blocking the curb ramps in Co-op City and throughout my district.
