Issue Position: Net Neutrality

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2018

I support net neutrality, because a free and open internet is important for innovation and economic growth. Ending net neutrality will disproportionately affect the working poor, rural citizens and schools, and small businesses. Americans overwhelmingly agree on keeping net neutrality. This is a completely non-partisan issue. 83% of Americans (75% of Republicans, 89% of Democrats, and 86% of Independents) are opposed to ending net neutrality according to recent polls.

The only people interested in ending net neutrality are the massive telecom corporations and internet service providers. It's no surprise that my opponent, Jeff Duncan, who has received over $30,000 in donations from telecom companies this election cycle is supportive of ending net neutrality.

I will push for Congress to enact real legislation (not FCC rules) to guarantee net neutrality and a free and open internet accessible to all Americans.
