Issue Position

Dan Newhouse believes we have an obligation to serve those who dedicated their lives to protecting our nation and our freedoms. Failing care at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) are unacceptable. Dan supports reforming the VA and holding its employees accountable in order to secure the best care for our Veterans.

Dan spearheaded the VET Act (H.R.3216), which requires that enrolled veterans seeking emergency treatment from VA facilities receive the highest level of emergency care available at that facility. Bureaucracy should never stand in the way of a Veteran when seeking medical care. We must honor our promises to take care of American heroes when they return home, and Dan continues to be a voice standing up for our veterans.
