Representative Lamb Says Congress Should Pass Laws, Not Meaningless Resolutions

Statement

Date: July 19, 2018
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Conor Lamb (PA-18) issued the following statement on H.Con.Res.119:

"This resolution is exactly the kind of political nonsense that I came to Washington to change. If we were actually voting on a bill that did what this resolution says and caused so much damage to our economy, of course I would oppose it. But make no mistake: this isn't serious policy. We were sent here to make laws, not pass meaningless resolutions.

"Our climate is changing. That's a fact, and we need to have a real debate about how we should respond to it. I want to see real proposals that would create and protect our jobs and our workers in Pennsylvania as well as our environment.

"We need to have hearings, we need to find practical solutions based on evidence and facts. We don't need more political theater."
