Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill today launched a drought resource page to aid Missouri's farmers and ranchers affected by intense drought conditions.

"Farmers and ranchers are the backbone of Missouri's economy, but with prices dropping from the ongoing trade war coupled with worst drought we've seen since 2012, their livelihoods are on the line," McCaskill said. "That's why I'm working hard to secure drought assistance and pass a Farm Bill that provides critical resources and certainty that our agriculture producers need now more than ever."

Take a look at McCaskill's new resource page here: mccaskill.senate.gov/drought-resource-center.

McCaskill's resource page provides information on relief programs available to Missouri's farmers and ranchers through federal and state governments, as well as services such as a drought monitoring map that is updated weekly. Additionally, the page offers a direct link for farmers and ranchers to apply for water supply assistance through the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and information on tax relief options following a drought.

McCaskill has consistently fought to ensure Missouri's farmers and ranchers have the resources they need to succeed. Last week, McCaskill worked with Senator Blunt to request drought assistance from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to release additional acreage for haying and grazing. McCaskill also voted in support of the Senate's bipartisan Farm Bill, authorizing $150 million annually for rural broadband deployment support, maintaining key food assistance programs for families in need, and increasing the Community Connect Program funding up to $50 million annually through 2023.
