Congresswoman Hanabusa's Statement On Authorization of Ala Wai Watershed Project

Statement

Date: June 6, 2018
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Infrastructure

"We have seen the devastation caused by the recent rains and flooding on Kauai and Oahu. The Ala Wai watershed must be preserved and fortified to ensure that catastrophic flooding does not impact the more than 150,000 residents who live in Waikiki, which is also the epicenter of our visitor industry. I am proud we acted now and urge my colleagues to support this bipartisan legislation that will help manage and improve our critical water infrastructure," said Congresswoman Hanabusa.

Congresswoman Hanabusa testified before the Army Corps of Engineers about this project.
