Following local, bipartisan backlash to Congress advancing a proposal that would give adoption providers a license to discriminate against LGBTQ families, JB Pritzker released the following statement:

"The Aderholt Amendment is nothing short of government-sanctioned license to discriminate, and I call on Bruce Rauner to join me in strongly opposing this heartless proposal," said JB Pritzker. "This amendment allows adoption agencies to turn away LGBTQ families on the basis of "moral convictions.' But the only moral conviction we must focus on is ensuring children find loving homes. It's sickening that Republicans in Washington are advancing bigoted policies instead of ones that help families thrive."
