Congressman Bill Johnson (R-Marietta) released the following statement after JSW Steel announced an investment in the hundreds of millions of dollars in acquiring the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Electric Arc Furnace and Rolling Mill in Mingo Junction from Acero Junction Inc.:

"This is very welcome news for Mingo Junction and the entire region; it means new, well-paying job opportunities and updated technology to the facility. It's another sign of the manufacturing resurgence in Eastern Ohio occurring right before our eyes. I'm eager and willing to meet with any group that wants to invest in the hardworking people I am privileged to represent. I'm confident that JSW Steel will quickly realize that investing in and believing in our community are great decisions -- decisions where everyone wins."
