Wenstrup Statement on Passage of VA MISSION Act

Today, the House passed the VA MISSION Act of 2018 (S. 2372), significant bipartisan legislation which would streamline VA's community care programs into one cohesive program, create a non-partisan process for reviewing VA's assets, and expand VA's Post-9/11 Caregiver Program to all eras.

It also includes Congressman Wenstrup's legislation the VA Provider Equity Act, which will recruit and retain in-demand surgical specialists due in part to the increased use of IEDs in recent wars.

Upon passage of the legislation, Congressman Wenstrup released the following statement:

"The VA MISSION Act, the culmination of over a year's worth of work with lawmakers and veteran stakeholders, is about keeping our promises to those who safeguard our freedoms.

"In 2014, America witnessed the heartbreaking results of hidden VA waitlists, and Congress quickly responded with the VA Choice program to ensure no veteran was kept from care.

"Now, under the leadership of Chairman Phil Roe, we are delivering a lasting solution to get our deserving veterans the care they have earned and enacting real reforms for the VA to succeed in the 21st Century," said Congressman Brad Wenstrup.
