Ensure access to healthcare and empower patients & providers

Obamacare is more than a broken website; it's a failed solution to spiraling healthcare costs that has led to canceled insurance policies, job losses and reduced hours for workers. Tom believes in a more patient-centered solution to our health care challenges that will empower patients and doctors, not insurance companies and government bureaucrats. He believes in reforms that ensure all Americans, regardless of pre-existing conditions and past illnesses, get coverage at affordable prices. He has worked to highlight the over 700 billion dollars that was robbed from Medicare to pay for Obamacare, and believes very strongly in protecting the promise made to senior citizens.

Tom voted in favor of repealing and replacing Obamacare and, as co-chair of the Problem Solvers Caucus, put forward a bipartisan set of solutions to stabilize our health insurance markets and provide relief to individuals, families and small businesses. Tom also as co-chair of the Diabetes Caucus, the largest disease-specific caucus in Congress, and is passionate about supporting legislation that would improve diabetes research, education and treatment.
