Titus Statement on the Retirement of Justice Kennedy

Representative Dina Titus of Nevada's First Congressional District released the following statement in response to the announced retirement of Justice Anthony Kennedy:

"The retirement of Justice Kennedy will have far-reaching impacts on the lives of every person in the United States for years to come," said Representative Titus. "As has been evident since he first set foot in the Oval Office, President Trump has little respect for our institutions and our laws. He has nominated numerous judges who push his radical agenda of attacking women, attacking unions, attacking immigrants, attacking the environment, attacking voting rights, attacking LGBTQ rights; the list goes on and on. The last vacancy on the Supreme Court was held open for 14 months until Majority Leader McConnell could kill the nomination of Judge Merrick Garland and install President Trump's pick. There's no doubt that Trump's nomination to replace Justice Kennedy will be someone who will also uphold the Republican radical agenda."
