Issue Position

All Coloradans and all Americans deserve a top tier education to fulfill each individual's potential and have a shared understanding of the American experience. It is in all of our interests to have the best schools, the best teachers, and highly educated students. We need to support public schools and make sure that all students have a chance to succeed, no matter their background or where they live. We need to make sure that our students have the most qualified teachers available, and that means supporting strong wages and opportunities for professional development. Higher education has become unaffordable for many families and student debt has become the largest cause of personal debt in the united States, so Congress needs to take action on student debt relief, find ways to make college more affordable, and develop innovative apprenticeship programs that can serve as an alternative to a traditional four year university program.
