Issue Position

Since entering the service at 18, I have pledged to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic, even with my life. The people are the strength of our nation, not the government. In a free society, people do not require constitutional authority to act - government does.

The Federal government has amassed an irresponsible $17 trillion debt because policy makers are asking the federal government to do things that it was never intended to do -- things that exceed Constitutional authority. We must halt the expansion of government, which limits freedom and threatens all that we hold dear. As a member of Congress, I will do everything in my power to curb government reach into our lives and liberty.
