Tester Campaign Announces Sportsmen and Women for Tester

Today, farmer and U.S. Senator Jon Tester launched Sportsmen and Women for Tester, a group of outdoorsmen and women who join Jon in the fight to protect our public lands from outsiders who do not understand our Montana way of life.

Tester, who makes a living off the land, is a relentless defender of Montana's outdoor heritage.

"In Montana, we share a proud outdoor heritage of hunting, fishing, hiking, and biking," Tester said. "And keeping our public lands in public hands is personal for us. I'll never stop fighting to protect our public lands from outsiders who want to see our favorite fishing holes and hunting spots developed for rich out-of-staters."

Montana's outdoor economy contributes $7 billion and over 70,000 jobs to the state every year. Tester has a proven track record of fighting for those jobs and protecting our Montana way of life.

Sportsmen and Women for Tester is led by Montanans from across the state who stand with Jon to defend our public lands.

Ryan Busse: Ryan is an active Montana sportsman and member of many conservation organizations including the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Trout Unlimited. He is a 25-year veteran of the outdoor industry and currently serves as chair for Backcountry Hunters and Anglers North American board of directors.

Maggie Carr & Yve Bardwell: Maggie and Yve own Dropstone Outfitting in Choteau. Dropstone Outfitting continues the legacy of one of the oldest and finest stock-supported hiking and backpacking guide services in Montana. Maggie and Yve grew up in the Choteau/Great Falls area, learning and exploring the vast Bob Marshall Wilderness. They share a strong sense of place with the "Bob" and we take pride in providing quality backcountry adventures.

Mike Penfold: Mike is a Billings resident who spent 20 years working for the U.S. Forest Service and 16 years working for the Bureau of Land Management, including a stint as Montana's BLM manager. In his spare time, Mike is an avid hunter, fisherman, and advocate for public access.
