Issue Position

As mayor, John created a "Hometown Heroes" recognition program to honor soldiers returning from active duty. In Congress, supporting our soldiers in the field and veterans at home has been one of his top priorities. In addition to supporting the National Defense Authorization Act, John has fought hard to protect the Red River Army Depot. He has introduced an amendment every year (which was passed) to the Military Construction and Veterans Appropriations Bill which would prohibit any funds from being used for additional rounds of BRAC.
