Enzi: Goodbye to the Old, Outdated Tax Code

Press Release

Date: April 17, 2018
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Taxes

Today is the deadline to file federal taxes, also known as Tax Day. U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., said today also represents the day we get rid of our old tax code in favor of our new modernized tax code.

"This Tax Day we are saying goodbye to the outdated tax code," Enzi said. "Thanks to tax reform, after today we will move forward with our new tax code that puts families first and gives Americans more financial freedom."

Although many significant changes from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will not be seen until next year's tax filings, Enzi highlighted the benefits that have already happened around the country, including more jobs; larger paychecks; new investments in the country; increased economic growth; and nearly 400 companies announcing pay raises and bonuses for more than 4 million employees.
