Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill met with representatives from Ozarks Technical Community College to discuss ways to make college more accessible and affordable in Missouri.

"Every Missourian deserves access to a quality, affordable college education that gives them the skills to succeed in the workforce," said McCaskill, a graduate of the University of Missouri. "I'm working hard here in Washington to make that a reality--and I always appreciate speaking to those who really know the needs of Missouri's colleges on how I can best continue that work."

McCaskill has been a longtime advocate for Missouri students and career technical education. Last year, McCaskill led a bipartisan group of 58 other Senators in calling for the renewal of the Perkins Career and Technical Education Act, which provides funding for career and technical education programs.

After touring Missouri and receiving input from constituents on her College Affordability Tour, McCaskill backed the Year Round Pell Grant Restoration Act to restore year-round Pell Grant resources for low-income college students to use towards summer courses.
