U.S. Representative Jeff Denham's (R-Turlock) issued the following statement about the passing of Former First Lady Barbara Bush.

"Mrs. Bush was a stateswoman, philanthropist and most importantly, a mother leaving behind a great legacy in her family. She was an advocate for literacy and helping underprivileged youth, and her contributions to this country will continue to be felt for generations to come. Sonia and I send our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the Bush family as they face this difficult time."
