Arrington Applauds Trump'S Call To Send National Guard To Border

Congressman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) released the following statement in response to the Trump Administration's call to deploy troops to the U.S.-Mexico border.

"In the words of Ronald Reagan, "A nation that cannot control its borders is not a nation.' Border security is first and foremost about the safety of the American people and, therefore, must be our top priority. By deploying the National Guard to the border, President Trump continues to demonstrate his unwavering commitment to stopping illegal immigration and restoring rule of law in this country. I support our president in these efforts and have always believed that border security is national security."

The Texas National Guard announced Friday that it plans to deploy 250 personnel to the border over the next 72 hours.
