Chairman Walden on Administration's Memo to Expedite Infrastructure Project Approvals

House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) today issued the following statement after the heads of several agencies, including EPA, DOE, and FERC, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to streamline the permitting process for infrastructure projects.
"With these signatures today, the administration has taken another important step to ensure we get important infrastructure projects built on time. Duplicative permitting processes and bureaucratic red tape are hindering economic growth, keeping people from work, and preventing us from capitalizing on our energy abundance. We will continue to work on solutions here at the Energy and Commerce Committee to further advance the nation's infrastructure, grow the economy, and empower consumers."
