Gov. Ricketts Comments on March Revenue Report

Statement

Date: April 13, 2018
Location: Lincoln, NE
Issues: Taxes

Today, Governor Pete Ricketts issued a statement following news that state general fund tax receipts for March were $32 million below the certified forecast from October 2017. This is $5 million below the most recent forecast made in February 2018.

"We will continue to monitor tax receipts closely in April as final individual income taxes for 2017 are due this month. This will be a key measure of the state's financial standing for the current fiscal year 2017-18."

By law, only downward revisions to the forecast are recertified, so the comparisons made in today's Revenue Department release are still based on the forecast certified on November 13, 2017.
