House Approves School Safety Legislation

Issues: K-12 Education Criminal Justice
Today, the House of Representatives passed the Students, Teachers and Officers Preventing School Violence Act of 2018 (The STOP School Violence Act).
The bipartisan legislation provides resources for schools to improve school security and prevent violence.
Congressman John Moolenaar voted for the legislation and made the following statement:
"Today's legislation gives states and local school districts the resources and flexibility to implement measures they believe will work best to create a safe learning environment for students and teachers."
