Shea-Porter Statement on White House Opioid Summit

Statement

Date: March 2, 2018
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Drugs

Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter (NH-01) released the following statement today on the White House Opioid Summit:

"Granite State communities, recovery and treatment centers, and all those working to stem the tide in this deadly crisis deserve real action from this administration. We need much more funding for recovery and treatment centers, and we need the White House to actually act on the recommendations of its opioid commission instead of shoving the recommendations in a drawer, proposing to eliminate the Office of National Drug Control Policy, and trying to take away health care when we know that access to health insurance is so incredibly important in addressing this crisis."
