Congressman Tom Rice (R-S.C.) today met with President Trump at the White House along with other House Republicans to discuss trade issues. Congressman Rice issued the following statement after the meeting:
"I share the President's goal of establishing fair and modern trade agreements that will create jobs and level the playing field for workers in South Carolina and across the country. We need to end unfair trade practices that damage American industry while continuing to look for opportunities to expand to new markets and customers. Striking this balance will support key sectors of our economy and ensure continued growth from tax cuts and regulatory reforms. I thank the President for allowing me to share specific concerns of South Carolinians today, and I look forward to continuing my active role in pursuing fair and effective trade agreements."
