Congressman Curtis is Ready to Get Back to Work

Statement

Date: Jan. 22, 2018
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman John Curtis issued the following statement after Congress finally voted to open the government.

I am delighted Congress has done what our nation expects of us and voted to reopen the government. I am pleased I was able to vote once again in support of the largest extension of the CHIP program in history and get back to work.

This bill paves the way for us to debate and find a responsible way to deal with defense spending, DACA, immigration and border security. I look forward to working with both parties in the coming weeks.

We cannot continue to govern with these short-term spending deals. I strongly believe it is an irresponsible way to govern and should not happen again. Utahns expect better from their officials and I don't intend to let them down.
