Congressman Lou Barletta (PA-11) released the following statement after Maria Hinojosa, a host from the government funded National Public Radio, compared enforcement actions by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to the Nazi Gestapo.

"The slander directed at the men and women who enforce our laws and protect our nation is unconscionable. ICE and Border Patrol agents put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe. It is infuriating that someone would leverage their taxpayer funded platform to attack the good men and women who serve our country. I have visited the border and seen how these fine men and women risk their lives every single day to keep us safe. To suggest that simply enforcing long standing federal laws is same as a being a Nazi is insulting to every member of the law enforcement community from the federal to local level. Taxpayer funding from one government sponsored entity should not be used to denigrate the members of another for politics."
