The second amendment of our Constitution reads, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." As a lifetime member of the NRA, I embrace the second amendment wholeheartedly. Our founding fathers understood that individual citizens had a duty and responsibility to defend themselves and each other. I support the right of Americans to carry guns across state lines and support HR 38, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act. Gun control only serves to create more victims of violence, by taking away the only tool they have to defend themselves from violent criminals.
