Issue Position

Our local school districts are truly the crown jewels of our communities. Our area has greatly benefited from their drive for excellence and ability to attract the best educators in Texas. I believe our schools work best with local control, great teachers, and parental involvement. In my time in the State Legislature, too often I saw Washington pushing their mandates on the State of Texas and our local communities. The worst example was Common Core, which I was able to help eliminate from Texas. In Congress I will fight to get the federal bureaucracy out of the way and let leaders in Austin and in Independent School District boardrooms across Collin County do their job unimpeded by Washington.
