Latta Votes To Take Next Step On Tax Reform

This evening, Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) joined his colleagues in passing a motion to go to a Conference Committee between the House and Senate to reconcile differences between the tax bills passed by each respective body. Latta recently voted to pass the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act to modernize the nation's tax code and provide needed tax relief for middle class families. Under the House bill, a family of four making $59,000 annually would keep nearly $1,200 more of their money each year. The legislation would create more than 33,000 full time jobs in Ohio according to one estimate.

"We're a step closer to pushing tax reform across the finish line and providing relief to middle-class families and small businesses," said Latta. "We want to pass this bill before the end of the year so that Ohioans will see more money starting with their first paycheck in January. Going to conference will help us hammer out the differences that remain. While there are still details to be sorted out, it's clear that this legislation will allow Americans to keep more of their hard-earned money."
