Taylor Force Act Passes House with Faso Support

Statement

Date: Dec. 5, 2017
Location: Washington, DC

Representative John Faso issued a statement following passage of the Taylor Force Act through the House of Representatives:

"The Palestinian Authority sends a terrible message by subsidizing the families of recently deceased terrorists," said Faso. "The subsidies are a direct contrast to the interests of peace. I am glad the House came together to send a unified and bipartisan message that America is committed to peace in the region."

Background:

· The Taylor Force Act would prohibit U.S. Foreign Assistance from going to the Palestinian Authority (PA) until it is certified that the PA stops the practice of issuing payments to the families of deceased terrorists.

· The Taylor Force Act is named for Taylor Force, a U.S. citizen murdered by a Palestinian terrorist.

· Representative Faso met with Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Dr. Rami Hamdallah during a visit to Israel earlier this year.
