Curbelo Comments on House Vote to Move Tax Reform Bill Forward to Conference with Senate

Representative Carlos Curbelo (FL-26) released the following statement after the House voted to send the tax reform bill to a conference committee with the Senate:

"After months of spirited debate and thoughtful conversations about what American families and businesses need to make sure the economic recovery reaches every household, we're entering the final phase of a pro-growth, pro-family, simplified tax code.

"As a Member of Ways and Means I have been a strong supporter of expanding the child tax credit to make sure our new simplified tax code leaves America's hard-working families more prosperous. Thanks to the tireless efforts of Florida's Senator Marco Rubio, this important benefit was further strengthened in the Senate. The conference committee should make every effort to protect these enhancements to the child tax credit and make it as robust as possible. American families deserve no less.

"While we have a lot of differences to work out, I'm hopeful my colleagues on the conference committee will work hard to come back to the House with the best product possible. I look forward to keeping a close eye on the conference deliberations and debating the final bill on the House Floor. By the end of this year, Congress will have taken decisive action to help ensure all Americans -- especially the most vulnerable -- are given the opportunity to find their success."
