Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after the non-partisan Tax Policy Center released a report finding that nearly 82 million middle class households face a tax hike under the Senate GOP tax scam:

"The GOP tax scam is a moral obscenity with staggering costs for middle class America. According to the Tax Policy Center, the latest Republican bill raises taxes on a staggering 82 million middle class households. Republicans are openly looting the hard-earned income of the American middle class to hand tax breaks to the wealthiest one percent and corporations shipping American jobs overseas.

"With each day, the GOP tax scam grows more representative of the priorities of the Republican Congress and more poisonous to the future of middle class American families."
