Rep. Blunt Rochester Leads Discussions on Jobs, Expanding Educational Opportunities with Delaware Tech President Dr. Mark Brainard

Today, Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester, a co-chair of the House Democratic Caucus Access to Jobs Task Force, and Delaware Technical Community College President Mark Brainard led a discussion on how Democrats can further promote commonsense policies that benefit working men and women in America. Blunt Rochester and Brainard were joined by House Democratic Caucus Chair Joe Crowley (D-NY), Vice-Chair Linda Sanchez (D-CA), as well as other Members of the Democratic Caucus and experts on jobs, education, and vocational training.

As part of the House Democratic Caucus Jobs for America effort, the Access to Jobs Task Force met to consider ways to expand apprenticeships and the middle class and create opportunities for the hardest-working individuals in the country.

"As a former Secretary of Labor and a longtime workforce development advocate, I've devoted my career to expanding job opportunities for all people," said Congresswoman Blunt Rochester. "That's why it's a privilege to showcase Delaware Tech's nationally-recognized Advanced Manufacturing Pathways Program. Their work is playing a major role in reducing Delaware's skills gap and is building talent pipelines for workers to gain access to good-paying advanced manufacturing jobs. Boosting our local economy and improving our manufacturing sector is a top priority for me and the House Democratic Caucus, and I'm pleased to play a leading role in highlighting the excellent work we're doing in Delaware to bridge the skills gap and build pathways to success in our communities."

The five Democratic Caucus Jobs for America Task Forces will create opportunities for growth, boost hardworking families, and give every worker the opportunity to achieve the American dream by developing legislation focused on investing in key industries. The effort was launched by House Democratic Caucus.
