Congressman Randy Weber (R -- Friendswood) released the following statement regarding the shooting at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas:

"The news out of Sutherland Springs is absolutely devastating. The tragedy continues to worsen as details emerge. It is truly difficult to wrap your head around this senseless violence. The neighbors and first responders are heroes, especially the men who engaged the shooter. LORD have mercy as the community and our nation grieve the loss of innocent lives."
