Trade Mission to Poland, Part II: Polish Officials, Business Leaders Eye Nevada for Collaboration, Investment

Highlights of the second half of Governor Brian Sandoval's second trade mission to Poland included multiple agreements with Polish officials at the national and provincial levels, as well as business leaders, for reciprocal trade missions to Nevada for the purposes of cooperation, investment and site selection.

"I am very pleased for the numerous opportunities we will have in Nevada to be able to return the hospitality of our gracious Polish hosts," said Governor Brian Sandoval. "The relationships we forged here will pay real economic and cultural benefits for all our people."

The governor and the Nevada delegation traveled to Katowice accompanied by Polish Senator Anna Maria Anders where they met the Marshal of Silesia Province Wojciech Saluga. Governor Sandoval delivered the key note address at the VII European Congress of Small and Medium-Size Enterprises and then met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and Higher Education Jaroslaw Gowin to sign a letter of intent between the State of Nevada and the Polish ministry to focus on technology cooperation and a joint acceleration program.

Back in Warsaw, the governor met with Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Finances Mateusz Morawiecki, followed by a luncheon with Polish businesses interested in doing business in Nevada organized by the Polish American Chambers of Commerce and the Polish National Foundation.

The delegation also visited the IGT Global Solutions data center facility to discuss the success of the Nevada gaming company in Poland and attended a Nevada promotion event hosted by Paul Jones, U.S. Ambassador to Poland.

The mission concluded with the Nevada-Pomerania-Gdansk Business Conference at the European Solidarity Center, meetings with Gdansk Mayor Paweł Adamowicz and the Marshal of Pomerania Provence Mieczyslaw Struk, and the signing of an agreement between the Regional Chamber of Commerce of Pomerania and the Polish American Chamber of Commerce of Nevada.
