On October 8, Vice President Mike Pence left an NFL game after several players refused to stand during the national anthem. Congressman Andy Harris (MD-01) released the following statement in support of Vice President Pence:

"As a veteran, I fully support the Vice President's decision to leave the Colts-49ers game after the disrespect the players showed to our flag and our national anthem. I personally will not be attending any NFL games until this disrespect ends."
