Statement from Governor Andrew M. Cuomo on Yom Kippur

Statement

Date: Sept. 29, 2017
Location: Albany, NY

"Tonight, members of the Jewish community will come together with family and friends to begin observing Yom Kippur. The Jewish Day of Atonement is a sacred time to reflect on the past year and focus on bettering ourselves for the new year.

"During this solemn and inspiring day, I hope that we continue to come together as New Yorkers and recommit to the New York promise of creating an equal, safe and secure society for all.

"On behalf of all New Yorkers, I wish all those observing a meaningful day and an easy fast. Gmar Chatima Tova."
