Perlmutter Statement on Republican Tax Plan

U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) released the following statement after the Trump Administration and Congressional Republicans released their tax reform framework:

"I support comprehensive tax reform and have long-advocated for changes that will simplify our tax code and make it more fair for hardworking Coloradans. President Trump's tax plan continues to be short on details but is not short on giveaways for corporate interests and the wealthiest Americans. What we do know from the plan released today is that corporations will pay a substantially lower tax rate and new loopholes will be created for the wealthy all while exploding the deficit.

"Responsible tax reform needs to look at both sides of the equation -- expenses and revenue -- in order to stimulate economic growth and help the hardworking folks in the middle."
