Marchant Legislation to Modernize "Stark" Law Unanimously Passes Committee

Statement

Date: Sept. 13, 2017
Location: Washington, DC

Following unanimous passage of HR 3726, The Stark Administrative Simplification Act, by the House Ways and Means Committee, Congressman Kenny Marchant (R-TX) released this statement:

"The modernizations to the "Stark" Law, agreed upon by Republicans and Democrats in the Ways and Means Committee, will alleviate the back-log of burdensome disclosures and allow the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to focus on the bad actors in our medical system.

"Most importantly, these hard-fought reforms will allow the healthcare providers in North Texas to get back to doing what they do best -- serving, treating, and healing my constituents.

"I urge swift action by the whole House and the Senate so we can send HR 3726 to the President's desk for his signature."
