Statement from Governor Dayton on Commerce Review of Enbridge Line 3

Statement

Date: Sept. 11, 2017
Location: St. Paul, MN

The Minnesota Department of Commerce today submitted testimony to the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (PUC), regarding the proposed Enbridge Line 3 Pipeline project. The following is a statement from Governor Mark Dayton.

"The Minnesota Department of Commerce has filed its review of Enbridge's proposed Line 3 Pipeline project. I commend the Department's professional staff for its very comprehensive analysis.

"This document will arouse considerable controversy. That discord should be recognized as part of the wisdom of the process. The ensuing 30-day response period will provide the opportunity for all parties to supply additional evidence to inform the Public Utilities Commission's decision on this matter.

"I will await that complete record before expressing my personal views. I note that, under Statute, the PUC is completely independent of my administration. I am confident that it will make its decisions based upon all the evidence and its judgement about the best interests of all of Minnesota."
