Rep. Ellison Statement on Tragedy at Minnehaha Academy

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) released the following statement after an explosion at Minnehaha Academy killed two people:

"Yesterday's explosion at the Minnehaha Academy is a tragedy in every sense, and I send my deepest sympathies to the victims and the families of those killed. The victims were some of the best among us - committing themselves to helping our youth and setting them up for success. Ruth Berg and John Carlson will be missed by the students, their colleagues, and the community as a whole.

"I am also sending my thoughts and prayers to the students of Minnehaha Academy. It is important that the students receive the resources and the support they need to cope with this terrible tragedy.

"And I want to thank our first responders, who immediately jumped into action despite the risks. These men and women are heroes who have the gratitude of an entire community."
