Today, U.S. Representative Tim Walz (MN-01) released the following statement after voting in favor of the Senate Amendment to H.R. 601, the Hurricane Supplemental, Debt Limit, Continuing Appropriations, and Flood Insurance Package:

"I am proud to have voted for essential funding to assist Americans and communities that are being impacted by the devastating Hurricanes of Harvey and Irma. I stand ready to help pass whatever else is needed from the Congress to help our fellow Americans rebuild their lives after such tragic disaster.

"I also want to thank Minority Leader Schumer, Minority Leader Pelosi and the President for doing what needs to be done to protect the full faith and credit of the United States and keep our government up and running through December 8, but we cannot keep kicking the fiscal can down the road. I look forward to working with both parties to pass a long-term spending measure that our service members and the American people deserve."
