U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) today voted to confirm Marvin Kaplan to serve on the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). His confirmation gives Republicans two seats on a five-member board, a big step toward rolling back Obama-era regulations.

"Marvin Kaplan has led the charge against waste, fraud and abuse caused by burdensome and unnecessary Obama-era labor rules" Inhofe said. "His confirmation to the NLRB takes the next step in undoing policies such as the Joint Employer Rule, which creates unnecessary costs and red-tape for American job-creators. I applaud Kaplan's confirmation and encourage the Senate to move quickly on William Emanuel's outstanding NLRB nomination. His confirmation would give Republicans a majority on the board for the first time in a decade."

Under Obama, NLRB implemented the Joint Employer Rule, which made companies liable for labor violations by their contractors and franchises. Under Obama, the panel also made it easier for employees to unionize.
