Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) today released the following statement regarding North Korea's consideration of plans to strike Guam and the Administration's recent statements concerning North Korea.

"North Korea's continuing development of nuclear missiles threatens stability throughout the world. In response to their latest antagonistic actions, I continue to urge the administration to pursue economic and diplomatic solutions, not engage in posturing and overheated rhetoric," said DeLauro. "Threats from both sides increase tension in a situation where cooler heads must prevail. We must work with our allies and other world powers to engage North Korea and find a peaceful solution."

Earlier this year, Congresswoman DeLauro joined 63 of her Democratic colleagues in sending a letter to President Trump regarding his responsibility to receive authorization from Congress before ordering use of U.S. military force. The full letter can be found here.
